    CFO marks name change from Reed Elsevier to RELX by sounding gong

    Nick Luff, CFO of RELX NV (ticker symbol: RELX), opens trading at the Amsterdam exchange to mark the official name change of the company’s Amsterdam listed shareholding vehicle from Reed Elsevier NV to RELX NV. This shorter and more modern name reflects the transformation of the company to a technology, content and analytics driven business while maintaining the link with its proud heritage. 

    The name change is part of an effort to simplify the corporate structure of the company, helping clarify the economic interests of parent company shareholders, and increase share price transparency. 

    Luff sounds the gong in the company of among others Jans van der Woude, Company Secretary, and Colin Tennant, Head of Investor Relations.

    Winners New Venture open trading

    Start-ups Active Cues, Bedrijfsoorcheck en PowerWindow were crowned ‘most innovative start-up of the Netherlands’ by a jury made up of investors and serial entrepreneurs on Thursday 25 June. New Venture’s final award ceremony was the conclusion of a nine month program in which the winners were selected from nearly 300 entries. In addition, these winners have been awarded with a total amount of € 35.000,-.


    For over 16 years, New Venture is a leading program that encourages innovative entrepreneurs to transform innovative ideas into valuable businesses. New Venture is initiated and supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the top of the Dutch industry.

    Transavia visits Beursplein 5 and sounds the gong for the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships The Netherlands 2015. Transavia, subsidiary of Euronext-listed company Air France – KLM (ticker symbol: AF) has been a partner in beach volleyball since the European Beach Volleyball Championships in 2012.

    The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships The Netherlands 2015 is the 10th World Championship in beach volleyball and is held in The Netherlands for the first time. It will be held from the 26th of June till the 5th of July in Amsterdam, Apeldoorn, Rotterdam and The Hague. The Finals will be in The Hague, where a floating stadium with 5000 seats is built on the Hofvijver pound, next to the Dutch parliament. In Amsterdam the stadium will be the eyecatcher on Dam Square.

    96 teams ( 48 men and 48 women) from 40 countries will compete at the World Championships. In total 208 matches will be played.
