Euronext Amsterdam, oldest stock exchange in the world

About the team and the role

To complement our team of index structuring and business development experts and to strengthen our processes and governance structure, we are looking for a driven individual to take the lead on the Index Rules, regulation, and governance procedures.

The Euronext Index Team consists of 13 team members in 2 European countries, who collaborate closely together to further strengthen Euronext’s position as international leading index provider. The position of the Index Analyst is stationed at Euronext Amsterdam.

About the position

The Index Analyst will take the lead in the maintenance and development of the Euronext Index methodologies, including corporate actions methodology, and will ensure compliance with relevant Index regulations and market practices.

The candidate will primarily be responsible for:

  • Creation, maintenance and development of Index Rules and methodologies
  • Preparing agenda’s and lead internal committees on evolutions of Index Rules
  • Leading external client consultations on Index Rules

Key Accountabilities

This position is for a Software Developer in the Compliance Services product line, responsible for software development activities of ComplyLog and all regulatory technology solutions for issuers and advisors.

Listing

Within Euronext, the Listing Department is in charge of the relationship with listed companies and those contemplating an IPO. Our mission is to promote financial markets and explain to business leaders the benefits of listing and how to better use financial markets once public. In addition, we are supporting a dynamic through creating and promoting new services and financing instruments, developing the investors’ axis, bringing together the ecosystem and lobbying towards European public authorities.

Role

The intern is part of the Listing Admissions team operating on different locations (Amsterdam, Dublin, Paris and Oslo) and in different markets The intern, under the responsibility of the Admission Managers, will be located in Paris.

The intern will handle the admission process of IPOs mainly in the market place where he/she is located but also in all Euronext markets (in collaboration with the rest of the team). The intern will have the mission of assessing companies applying for an initial admission of equity securities on a Euronext market through the review of the documentation drafted in this context as well as presenting a recommendation to the Euronext Listing Board, in charge of accepting/refusing admission projects on Euronext markets. Finally, the intern will be in charge of liaising and collaborating with local regulators and other intermediaries

Key accoutabilities

 The Listing Admission Officer main tasks will be to:

  • Take part in kick-off meetings with the management (C-level) of the prospects and their advisors applying for an initial admission on Euronext markets,

  • Assess companies applying for an initial admission of equity securities on a Euronext market based on the following criteria (non-exhaustive list): legal, compliance, business model, strategy, shareholder structure, management, purpose of the transaction, financial situation, etc.

  • Review of the documentation drafted in the context of the admission on Euronext markets (e.g. Information document, Prospectus, etc.),

  • Prepare a recommendation memorandum to the Listing Committee/Euronext Listing Board in charge of accepting/refusing admission projects on Euronext markets,

  • Inform, guide and assist companies that are considering an admission on Euronext markets;

  • Assess companies applying for an accreditation as Listing Sponsor;

  • Contribute to the improvement of the listing process across all Euronext locations, simplification and harmonization of the Euronext market rules. 

 

The intern will be managed by the Listing Execution Managers and will work in close collaboration with the rest of the Listing team (located in different places) and will share any relevant information with colleagues, both nationally and internationally.

A first successful internship in the capital market industry, including in a consultancy or fintech, would be a strong plus but is not required. 

The successful candidate will be fluent in French and in English.
