Winners Amsterdammertje of the Year open trading day

Norah van Lottum (13 years old) and Ambrien Moeniralam (16 years old) are the winners of the title 'Amsterdammertje of the Year”.

About Amsterdammertje of the Year
'Amsterdammertje' is a nickname for a young inhabitant of Amsterdam. They received the prize last week in the City Hall from the hands of mayor Femke Halsema. Norah herself collected many presents for children in the Emma Children's Hospital.

Ambrien won the prize for her battle against street harassment. With her Instagram account CatcallsofAMS she makes visible the issue of verbal offensive harassment she and others have to deal with on a regular basis, while walking the streets of Amsterdam.

The contest 'Amsterdammertje of the Year" aims to show that young people are positive change makers and to influence other young people to do good for others and their environments.
