Course for board members

ONLINE

Oslo Børs has prepared a course aimed at board members of companies listed on the stock exchange's marketplaces. By participating in this course, you will gain the necessary knowledge that Oslo Børs expects board members to have.
Both the use of the capital market and current regulations are on the agenda. Our ambition, through this course, is to help board members be better prepared to face challenging situations, to avoid shareholders being discriminated against and to ensure that the duty to provide information is handled correctly.

Due to current restrictions in connection with Covid-19, we have chosen to set up the course as a live webinar, which allows for participants to ask questions.

Oslo Børs is keen on securing and strengthening general confidence in the Norwegian securities market. Trust is a fundamental prerequisite for a well-functioning securities market, and in this regard, it is essential that the various market participants' behaviour meets the market's requirements and expectations.

The board of listed companies holds the ultimate responsibility to fulfil these requirements, and it is expected that each individual board member has current knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, as well as knowledge of prevailing recommendations and best practices. The consequences for making a mistake can be significant for both the company and individual board members, for example, repercussions taking the form of a weakened reputation, fines and possible imprisonment.

Oslo Børs has a basic competence requirement for board members, which means that board members must meet a satisfactory knowledge level of the rules that apply to companies listed on the stock exchange's marketplaces.

Oslo Børs would like to underline that the competence requirement does not apply to bond issuers.

The webinar will be conducted in English.
