As we reach the midpoint of the 2026 AGM season, Euronext Securities continues to support issuers and shareholders across Europe with innovative, secure and flexible meeting and governance solutions. This year’s trends highlight a blend of digital transformation, strong shareholder participation and new partnerships that are shaping the future of corporate governance.

Introducing the new Shareholder Register and General Meeting Platform in Norway and Denmark

Euronext Securities has taken a significant step forward in modernising Issuer Services with the launch of its integrated Shareholder Register and General Meeting Platform. The platform is now available to customers in Norway, and to a selection of customers in Denmark. This innovative solution combines European experience with local market adaptability, streamlining general meetings and shareholder registers across Central Securities Depositories (CSDs) starting with Denmark and Norway. Designed to be intuitive, user-friendly and flexible, the platform replaces existing systems with a modern interface. The platform adapts easily to different - types of meetings and market regulations. It supports every stage of the meeting process:

  • Shareholder register: An updated online list of current and historical investors, reflecting change in holdings and tailored to meet the registration standards of various markets.

  • Pre-meeting: A comprehensive application for collecting, preparing and inputting all relevant data before the general meeting

  • In-meeting: A dynamic system supporting live general meetings, enabling both physical and virtual participation. It ensures authentication of participants’ credentials, live voting (including the option to vote on their personal device), the right to ask questions and smooth interaction through advanced audio/video integrations or standalone options.

  • Post-meeting: Detailed reports generated after the meeting, including vote results and other essential data, ensuring transparency and accountability.

The platform is also designed with ESG principles in mind, empowering issuers and shareholders to engage in AGMs with a focus on sustainability and responsible governance.

We are excited to introduce this state-of-the-art platform, which represents a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to provide unparalleled service to our clients,

said Lene M. Refvik,, Head of Issuer Services.

This is just the beginning of our journey towards making investor services more adaptable, intuitive and user-friendly across Europe.

Euronext Securities is committed to continuous innovation and excellence in serving its clients. The new Shareholder Register and General Meeting Platform is a testament to this commitment, promising a future where technology and service converge to meet the changing needs of the market.

GM trends in Italy: balancing innovation and engagement

From January to May 2026, Euronext Securities has already supported 182 annual general meetings (AGMs) in Italy, with a further 30 meetings expected in June as the season continues. Around 70% of these meetings have been held remotely, where Euronext Securities acts as proxy agent and attends on behalf of shareholders. This streamlined approach makes it easy for issuers to manage their meetings efficiently, while ensuring full compliance with Italian regulations.

At the same time, there is continued interest in in-person meetings, which account for approximately 30% of AGMs managed so far this year. Many issuers value the opportunity to reconnect directly with shareholders, particularly when strategic or sensitive matters are being discussed. In April, Euronext Securities supported a major in-person AGM with televoting services, bringing together around 560 shareholders physically present and more than 2,500 represented shareholders.  For in-person meetings, Euronext Securities provides flexible support ranging from on-site technical assistance to seamless management of participation and voting, and, where required, acts as designated representative for issuers listed on Euronext Securities Milan.

Looking ahead, an additional peak is expected between September and October, driven by issuers with a fiscal year ending on 30 June.

This combination of remote and in-person formats highlights how Italian issuers continue to balance innovation, regulatory requirements and meaningful shareholder engagement. Euronext Securities remains committed to supporting clients with tailored solutions to meet their evolving AGM needs.

AGM activity in Denmark and Norway: strong participation and growing international engagement

Euronext Securities supported a total of 173 general meetings in Denmark and Norway. Both the Danish and Norwegian AGM season is well underway, and we still have general meetings to be conducted in the coming month.

In Denmark, physical attendance remains significant, with some meetings welcoming up to 1,700 shareholders in person. At the same time, hybrid and fully virtual formats continue to gain ground, now accounting for 47% of all general meetings. This blend of physical, hybrid and virtual formats demonstrates how issuers in Denmark and Norway are adapting to shareholder needs and regulatory developments, while Euronext Securities secures the possibility for broad and effective engagement – either directly or through our distributors.

Alongside general meetings, Euronext Securities has also supported eleven elections in Denmark, including for three C25 companies. These elections often run over several weeks and demonstrate the platform’s ability to handle complex governance processes, even for clients who do not use Euronext Securities for their shareholder register or general meeting services.

A notable trend this season is the rise in international participation. Denmark has seen a 20% increase in foreign voting instructions compared to last year. This growth highlights how improved access to shareholder rights, particularly following the implementation of the Shareholder Rights Directive II (SRD2), is encouraging more institutional investors from around the world to take an active role in Danish AGMs.

Whatever the format, Euronext Securities is dedicated to delivering seamless, compliant and innovative meeting solutions that make participation easier and governance stronger.

New partnership: Euronext Securities and HC Andersen Capital

To further support clients in their governance journey, Euronext Securities has entered into a new partnership with HC Andersen Capital. By bringing digital governance tools into the broader service offering, Euronext Securities helps clients move beyond manual and time-consuming administrative processes. Instead, companies can work in a way that is more streamlined, secure and transparent. This is particularly important for organisations that regularly deal with sensitive board information and need to maintain strong governance standards while meeting regulatory requirements.

Our solution supports this by giving boards and management teams a clear and structured environment where important documents, information and decisions can be managed efficiently and securely.

Modernising board processes: the benefits of Admincontrol

Digital transformation is also at the heart of our collaboration with Admincontrol. Admincontrol provides a board and corporate workflow management platform designed to make good governance easier to practise in everyday work. With Admincontrol’s board portal, organisations can digitalise and streamline the processes that support board and management activities. This includes securely organising and preparing documents in structured folders, creating and sharing agendas for board and management meetings, and ensuring that the right people always have safe and easy access to the information they need.

The platform also helps simplify many of the administrative tasks that come with board work. For example, meeting minutes can be reviewed and signed directly in the system, creating a clear and auditable record of decisions. Admincontrol also supports processes such as competence assessments and board evaluations, making it easier for organisations to regularly review and strengthen their governance practices.

For clients of Euronext Securities, this means an even stronger and more seamless governance process. By combining trusted financial infrastructure services with modern governance technology, organisations gain practical tools that help them manage sensitive information securely, collaborate more effectively at board level, and maintain the high governance standards expected in today’s business and regulatory environment.

Looking ahead

As the AGM season continues, Euronext Securities remains focused on supporting issuers and shareholders with innovative solutions, expert guidance and new partnerships. Whether your organisation is looking to modernise its governance processes, engage shareholders more effectively or ensure compliance with the latest regulations, Euronext Securities is here to help you navigate the future of corporate governance.
