Amsterdam, 6 November 2013: Today the Amsterdam exchange of NYSE Euronext presents in cooperation with Stichting Capital Amsterdam the ‘Amsterdam Exchange Experience’, a new interactive exhibition about the importance and role of the exchange for the economy. The exposition will be presented during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Amsterdam exchange building at Beursplein 5, in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Máxima. It’s the first time that the oldest exchange in the world opens its doors to the public through a permanent exhibition.
The Amsterdam Exchange Experience was developed with a view to financial education. During a visit to the Experience the visitor will be told about the exchange and its social role as a growth engine of the economy. The exhibition also shows its rich history, which goes back to the East India Company (VOC) and the activities and success of the listed companies. The Experience will be open to the public as of Monday November 11th.
Queen Máxima will visit the Experience during the 100th anniversary of Beursplein 5. After the visit she will take part in a festive dinner where she will speak in her capacity as a member of the Committee for Enterprise and Finance and honorary chair of the Money Wise Platform.

The purpose is to make people aware of the importance of the exchange and its listed companies for the Dutch economy. As an exchange we are at the heart of the society and as of today everyone can come and see it with their own eyes”.
