Family business Award 2019
Lely won the Family business Award 2019 hosted by Family Enterprises Foundation. Alexander van der Lely, CEO Lely, sounds the gong together with the other finalists Koppert Biolgoical Systems, and Koninklijke Otolift Trapliften.
About Family Enterprises Foundation
The Family Enterprises Foundation was founded in 2012 to support Dutch family companies. These enterprises are the backbone of the Dutch economy. Family businesses deserve more attention from both the Dutch government and general public, as they are responsible for 49% of the employment and realize 53% of the gross domestic product. To create this awareness, the foundation yearly awards one family company with the so called ‘Familiebedrijven Award’. The Foundation is supported by KPMG and ABN AMRO, both financially and in the process of the selection of the winner. KPMG does the first selection of potential candidates based on 8 criteria and the prerequisite that the company is a true family company (definition of the European Committee). The selected companies will be visited by the jury of the Foundation. Afterwards the jury will choose a winner. The Chief Executive Officer of the winning company will join the jury for a period of one year.
