Your Tasks…

Will be focused on Sales and Key Account Management activities within the markets of responsibility and for cross-selling additional Nord Pool products & services to increase revenue across the assigned portfolio of accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers, at all relevant organizational levels.
  • Proactively seek new business sales and support customers through the onboarding process.
  • Cross sell Nord Pool products & services (across all regions) to assigned portfolio of customers to increase revenue from the assigned accounts.
  • Responsible for stakeholder management including branch organizations, authorities, government, regulators, Independent System Vendors (ISVs) and other groups as relevant for the markets of responsibility.
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction of the assigned accounts.
  • Pro-active communication and follow up on customer needs towards the Nord Pool organization.
  • Where the assigned portfolio includes customers flagged as Strategic Accounts, responsibility for account planning and plan follow up to ensure specific account targets are achieved.
  • Maintain updated records on existing and potential customers within area of responsibility at all times. Actively use and be responsible for updating information into Nord Pool CRM system, including minutes from customer meetings.
  • Establish an active role in the energy communities within the markets of responsibility - be up to date on market topics and competitors, and share this knowledge within the Nord Pool organization.
  • Cooperate with internal departments to help streamline business processes.
  • Give presentations and lectures, and play an active role in events and educational programmes or seminars which are significant for potential or existing Nord Pool customers.
  • Contribute to joint goals as a key member of the Markets team, and develop plans for agreed activities.
  • Represent the markets team in the product development & innovation idea to launch processes (where applicable).
  • Participate in industry workgroups related to key market design topics for the Nordic & Baltic region - ensuring the Nord Pool organization is up to date on upcoming industry changes and feeding business development opportunities into strategy planning.

Western and Central Europe Market Manager

Experienced in sales and key account management, preferably in the energy or financial industry

Your Tasks…

will be centered around growing Nord Pool’s presence in Western and Central (WCE) Europe, with a focus on the German-speaking region.

  • As your main task, attract new customers by managing the sales cycle from contacting potential customers to negotiating contracts and getting customers on board, and manage existing key accounts
  • Establish and expand a strong network with energy industry stakeholders, including customers, TSOs/DSOs, regulators and other public bodies
  • Represent and promote Nord Pool in external forums, trade fairs and conferences
  • Work with customers and external stakeholders to understand their demands and industry trends to be able to shape an innovative and competitive offering in the region.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders such as the Operations team, Customer Service and Product Management.

Job description:

The Head of Operations will oversee the day-to-day operations in Nord Pool, ensuring efficient, reliable, and secure trading activities, onboarding and incident handling. This role is critical in driving operational excellence, managing risk, and implementing strategic initiatives to support the growth and sustainability of Nord Pool. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in energy markets, operations management, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of Nord Pool, ensuring seamless and efficient trading activities.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Work closely with other Power Exchanges and Transmission System Operators in Europe to further develop and operate under the European processes agreed in close cooperation with other internal departments
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to implement and maintain robust trading systems and technologies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with market participants, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve operational performance.
  • Follow and secure performance and monitoring with appropriate dashboard, reports and tools.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans to address and resolve operational disruptions.
  • Ensure clear, efficient and concise communication towards external and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Engineering, IT, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in relevant fields
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Technical Skills: Having a strong understanding of energy markets, trading systems, and regulatory frameworks will be a clear benefit for the candidate.
