Media Communications Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Press Officer with 3–5 years of experience in media relations to join our team in Milan, Italy. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the Italian financial media landscape, as well as international markets, with a proven track record in managing press activities in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Experience in communication agencies, handling a client portfolio across industries and financial institutions, is a strong advantage.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic professional who thrives under pressure, capable of managing multiple activities within a small local team while collaborating seamlessly with colleagues across a multinational structure. Adaptable, proactive, and confident, they will ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes across all communications initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and distribute press releases and articles in both Italian and English.
  • Manage daily media monitoring and prepare press reviews.
  • Handling enquiries from journalists and other media contacts.
  • Organise and coordinate press conferences and media interviews.
  • Support the drafting of thought leadership articles, speeches, and opinion pieces, briefing dossiers, write speeches for C-level  spokespersons.
  • Liaise with the industry stakeholders (Regulator, Treasury, industry’s Associations) and coordinate communications strategies when necessary.
  • Support the company’s social media pages, ensuring consistent and engaging content.
  • Coordinate communication activities across different business lines and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinating with other communications teams both internally and externally.
  • Support media engagement during corporate events, including occasional travel within Italy and abroad.
  • Ensure alignment and consistency in messaging, even in rapidly changing circumstances.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of proven experience in media relations, ideally within the financial sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Italian financial media and journalists.
  • Previous experience in communication agencies.
  • Excellent written and spoken Italian and English; international experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of capital markets and financial topics.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Team player with a flexible and adaptable mindset, comfortable working in a small local team, while also being fully integrated into a multinational team
  • Availability to travel when required.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Fully independent in report writing and excellent drafting skills.
  • Excellent ability to think analytically and innovatively.
  • Capabilities to clearly, efficiently and effectively conceptualise ideas and approaches.

University degree in Communications, International Relations, Political Science, or other relevant field.
