Oslo Børs VPS joins Euronext

On 18 June 2019, Euronext announced the completion of the acquisition of Oslo Børs VPS, which becomes the Group’s central exchange in the Nordic region and one of its seven core markets.

Euronext is fully committed to further development of Oslo Børs VPS, including its stock exchange and the Central Securities Depository VPS, through a client-centric partnership with all sectors of the Norwegian financial community.

Oslo Børs VPS’s unique strategic and competitive positioning, including a robust equities market and a leading global position in energy, shipping and seafood, will further strengthen Euronext as a capital market infrastructure of choice for financing the real economy.

Together, Euronext and Oslo Børs VPS form the leading pan-European exchange with financing venues in Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Lisbon, Paris, and now Oslo. We welcome order flow from over 5000 local and international institutional investors from the United States, the United Kingdom and continental Europe, and a wide and diverse community of close to 1,500 listed companies, from fast-growing small and midcaps to international blue chips.

Local governance is a key principle of Euronext’s federal model: Oslo Børs VPS will preserve its local footprint among Norwegian companies while reinforcing its global leadership in the ocean industries by leveraging the strengths of an agile European market infrastructure.
