Paris and Nantes – 3 June 2015 – To celebrate the Web2day Digital Festival starting today in Nantes, EnterNext, the Euronext subsidiary dedicated to promoting and growing the market for small and medium-sized companies, is presenting a session explaining how tech companies can use financial markets to secure the financing they need. This is the third in a series of presentations organised by EnterNext in each of the French cities awarded the “French Tech” label. It features entrepreneurs, investors, analysts and other experts, all contributing their vision of the financing challenges facing tech companies.

Two presentations dedicated to financing innovative regional businesses

Web2day, France’s second largest digital event, will bring together over 130 international speakers for three days dedicated to innovation, digital technology and new web trends. Nearly 2,000 participants are expected. This year, for the first time, an afternoon is dedicated to finance and offers two presentations: financing tech business growth and positioning financial markets as a growth driver for SMEs in tech fields. By providing a forum for debate and promoting discussions among stakeholders, Web2day hopes to create new momentum and help tech companies meet the challenge of securing finance.

Western France—a fertile breeding ground for innovative SMEs

Western France counts 34 listed SMEs representing total market capitalisation of €3.6 billion. Over 40% are in tech fields, with two—Ekinops and Valneva—awarded the Tech 40 label launched in April to promote Europe’s most dynamic and innovative listed SMEs.

Eric Forest, CEO of EnterNext, said: “We are delighted with the success of this event—the first Web2day sessions focusing on financing. Western France is home to a vibrant community of entrepreneurs and has developed the eco-system they need to expand. Our role is to reposition markets as a source of finance for these fast-growing companies’ projects.

Stéphane Laskart, COO of EnterNext with responsibility for Western France adds: “We are very happy to take part in this milestone event for Western France. The region is a major breeding ground for excellent tech companies that we believe will quite naturally turn to capital markets to finance growth in the months and years ahead.
