Holcim specializes in producing and marketing construction materials. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:

• cement and bricks (60.6%): 140.3 million tons sold in 2014. At the end of 2014, the group had 144 production sites located in Europe (34), Asia/Pacific (54), Latin America (27), North America (17), Africa and the Middle East (12);
• aggregates (8%): 153.1 million tons of sand, gravel, and chalk sold, etc. At the end of 2014, Holcim had 363 production sites worldwide;
• other (31.4%): primarily ready-to-use concrete (37 million m3 sold; owns 935 sites) and asphalts (10 million tons; 84 sites).

Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Europe (27.2%), Asia/Pacific (36.2%), North America (17.5%), Latin America (15.1%), Africa and Middle East (4%).
