Finance Data Governance Lead

Due to the rapid growth in data volumes and complexity, and Euronext’s strategic focus on digital and artificial intelligence capabilities, we are transitioning from a centralised to a federated data governance model. In this new approach, each business domain is responsible for implementing its own data governance programme, with direction and support from the Group Data Governance team. The Finance domain is now seeking a finance data governance lead to drive this initiative within its area.

This is a pivotal role for a self-starter with strong tenacity and business acumen. Someone who can understand domain-specific needs and priorities, and shape a data governance programme that delivers tangible value. You will collaborate closely with a wide range of stakeholders, including business lines, business data owners, data stewards, domain and group IT teams, and the Group Data Governance function. This is a unique opportunity to lead meaningful change and help embed a culture of data ownership and accountability within a key area of the business.

You will be primarily responsible for:

• Driving the implementation of data governance in the Finance business line, ensuring business needs are identified and prioritised, and that efforts align with organisational tools, policies and frameworks defined by the Group Data Governance team, following Data Mesh principles.
• Contributing to the development, enhancement and operationalisation of data governance frameworks, policies and standards to improve data quality, integrity, lineage, security and accessibility.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies, proactively identifying and mitigating risks related to data governance.
• Monitoring, measuring and enforcing data governance practices across the Finance domain, ensuring consistent adoption and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborating with business data owners, data stewards and key stakeholders to establish clear roles, responsibilities and accountability for data management.
• Acting as the primary liaison between the Finance business line, IT teams and various internal and external stakeholders, including product owners, business analysts and developers.
• Driving metadata management and data catalogue initiatives, ensuring accurate documentation of data assets, ownership and governance workflows.
• Leading the data quality programme to identify, assess, remediate and prevent data quality issues, monitoring data quality metrics and addressing issues in collaboration with stewards and technical teams.

Your profile:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, computer science, information technology or other STEM disciplines.
• At least seven years of professional experience, including three to four years in a data governance and management role.
• Proven experience in a data management role with a focus on governance.
• Strong knowledge of data governance principles and practices, ideally in a federated or Data Mesh environment.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with database technologies and ETL (extract, transform, load).
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Desirable skills:

• Experience with data visualisation tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence related topics.
• CDMP accreditation or strong familiarity with the DAMA DMBOK framework.
