Argentex – Granting of E-money licence

This morning Harry Adams, CEO of Argentex, sounded the gong.

Together with his team, they celebrated the granting of their E-money licence from the Dutch Central Bank. Argentex offers foreign exchange services to financial institutions, companies and private customers.

Association of Compliance Professionals – 20th anniversary

Today Michelle Fisser, Management VCO and Founder Compliance in Motion, sounded the gong to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Association of Compliance Professionals. The association will also be holding an event at the ‘De La Mar Theatre’ with the theme ‘Compliance in Transformation’. The group was welcomed by Tjerk de Jong, Team Lead Member Compliance, and René van Vlerken, Head of Listing at Euronext Amsterdam.

International Teachers Day 2022

Rens van Stigt, lecturer in (business) economics at the Koningin Wilhelmina College in Culemborg, celebrates International Teachers Day by opening the trading day with his students. Mr van Stigt was awarded this honour because he won the last Scholenstrijd competition. At that time the market opening could not take place due to Covid related restrictions.

The Scholenstrijd competition is a digital investment competition for secondary school students. The event is organised by the Capital Amsterdam Foundation.

The new edition of the Dutch national Scholenstrijd competition starts this October. Schools compete for the best result in virtual trading trading on the stock exchange.

International Teachers Day reflects on the social importance of education and expresses special appreciation for teachers.

World Investor Week 2022

In celebration of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO)’s World Investor Week 2022, Euronext colleagues from all over Europe rang the Bell for Financial Literacy.

World Investor Week is a week-long, global campaign to raise awareness about the importance of investor education and protection and highlight the various initiatives of securities regulators in their areas.

ABN AMRO – Amsterdam Investor Forum

On 21 September, ABN AMRO is organising the 10^th Amsterdam Investor Forum. This forum brings together leading economists, senior hedge fund managers and financial services firms to discuss the current opportunity set, evolving market backdrop and challenges facing the industry.

Amsterdam Stock Exchange newspaper archive donated to Financieele Dagblad

Exactly 79 years ago, Het Financieele Dagblad was first published in its current form, as a continuation of various financial dailies. In celebration, the current FD editors received a special set of newspapers today, namely the archived paper editions from the Amsterdam stock exchange from 3 January 1944 until the present day. For decades, these newspapers formed a daily treasure of information for stock traders in the reading room of Beursplein 5.

The paper newspaper editions were donated by Stichting Capital Amsterdam, which manages Amsterdam’s stock exchange heritage.

To mark the occasion, Perry Feenstra, editor-in-chief of the Financieele Dagblad, sounded the gong today. The group was welcomed by Marianne Aalders, Communication Manager at Euronext Amsterdam. 

Euronext Amsterdam – Kick-off Coastal Clean-up Days

The kick-off of the Euronext Amsterdam Coastal Clean-up was celebrated this morning with a traditional gong ceremony.

Euronext teams from across 12 different locations in Europe are rolling up their sleeves and filling dozens of bags with rubbish, preventing it from ending in the ocean.

Each year, from North to South, Euronext volunteers engage in a week of waterfront clean-up initiatives, in celebration of International Coastal Clean-Up Day and European Sustainable Development Week.

As the first exchange signatory of the UNGC Sustainable Ocean Principles, Euronext embraces the sustainable goal of the conservation of the oceans, seas and marine resources, as consecrated in the United Nations’ SDG 14. It is a cause that is dear to our community.

Celebration of the new edition of STEPtember

Today is the start of a new edition of STEPtember. STEPtember is a sponsored sporting event in which thousands of participants worldwide get moving throughout the month of September. Euronext Amsterdam is also inspiring its employees to participate in this initiative, with this year marking the third time in a row, for themselves, and for people with cerebral palsy.

Job (4 years old) has cerebral palsy and is one of the enthusiastic trainers supporting this event. He was allowed to open the trading day today by sounding the gong to give the starting signal for this special event.
