The financial heart of the Netherlands.

The financial heart of the Netherlands

The Amsterdam Stock Exchange offers ambitious companies from the Netherlands and abroad access to the global capital markets  and connects the various market participants.

Companies like Adyen, ASML, Marel and Prosus are proof of Amsterdam’s appeal to multinationals, thanks to the access to global institutional investors that the Dutch capital market offers. The Amsterdam market is equally attractive to domestic small and mid sized companies.

We offer professional traders a hi-tech environment through our proprietary trading platform Optiq, and private and institutional investors the assurance of a transparent and regulated trading environment.

Dutch business community calls for measures to boost earning capacity and broad prosperity

A resilient and well-functioning economy is essential to secure the overall prosperity and future earning capacity of the Netherlands. This requires substantial investments, including in digitisation, defence and the energy transition.
Euronext Amsterdam has joined a broad coalition of parties from the business community and the financial sector that is calling for targeted actions and measures. Only by giving the financial sector the space to fully fulfil its role as a financier and catalyst for growth and transition can the Netherlands realise these ambitions. Download the underlying manifesto here:

Putting the Dutch capital market to work for growth and innovation

In a joint initiative with leaders in the Dutch capital market, Euronext Amsterdam is making an emphatic appeal to politicians to make better use of the power of the Dutch capital market for the major investment challenges facing our country, from energy and sustainability to housing and innovation.

The message is clear: put the Dutch capital market to work for growth and innovation. Investing in growth requires not only public funds, but also a well-functioning, robust and future-oriented financial infrastructure that helps companies grow, stimulates innovation and enables households to put their savings to productive use.

We appeal to the new cabinet to strengthen the business and investment climate by pursuing a predictable and stable fiscal policy. In addition, it is crucial to continue investing in talent development and to keep the Netherlands attractive to international talent.

Private investors must be encouraged to invest more in the economy through tax incentives, better education about investing and more balanced investor protection. Institutional investments also deserve greater focus through closer cooperation between the public and private sectors. The government and the business community must join forces in the interests of the Dutch “business entity”. Finally, further integration of European capital markets is needed to strengthen the internal market and improve access to capital for businesses.

Only by working together can the government, the business community, investors and financiers ensure that the Dutch capital market works to promote sustainable economic growth and innovation.

Euronext congratulates Nearfield on its new unicorn status

This morning, Euronext Amsterdam held a special Gong Ceremony to honour Nearfield Instruments. Following the largest investment round in the Dutch Deep Tech sector ($380 million), Nearfield has reached a $1.6 billion valuation, evolving into a true unicorn. Nearfield builds metrology machines that detect chip imperfections at the atomic level - technology that makes a vital difference in the global semiconductor industry. This success proves once again that we can build world-class companies right here in Europe, attracting world-class capital close to home - without having to choose between being European and being global. Here at Euronext, we are proud of our strong relationships with European businesses, and we will continue to ensure that ambitious companies like Nearfield can access everything they need to scale and lead on their home continent. Congratulations to Nearfield for leading the way in Dutch Deep Tech. The group was welcomed by René van Vlerken, CEO of Euronext Amsterdam, and Christine van den Bos, Listing Director at Euronext Amsterdam.
