World Press Photo
Gongslag kondigt begin aan van World Press Photo wereldtournee
Met een slag op de gong opent Mads Nissen, winnaar van de World Press Photo 2014, de beurshandel. Hij doet dit in gezelschap van tentoonstelling sponsor Delta Lloyd (ticker symbol DL). De gongslag kondigt het begin aan van de World Press Photo wereldtour, die op zaterdag 18 april opent in De Nieuwe Kerk Amsterdam.
De tentoonstelling van de internationale persfotowedstrijd bevat indrukwekkende persfoto’s van 42 prijswinnaars uit 17 landen, in acht categorieën: Algemeen nieuws, Dagelijks leven, Hard nieuws, Hedendaagse kwesties, Langetermijn-projecten, Natuur, Portretten en Sport. In elke categorie zijn een eerste, tweede en derde prijs toegekend, voor zowel enkel beeld als series. Net als in 2014, toen World Press Photo na 15 jaar terugkeerde in De Nieuwe Kerk, wordt het speciaal ontwikkelde hangsysteem gebruikt, waardoor de foto’s lijken te zweven in de gotische ruimte aan de Dam.
World Press Photo ontvangt steun van de Nationale Postcode Loterij en wereldwijde sponsoring door Canon.
