De Morningstar Awards zijn dit jaar voor de tiende keer uitgereikt in Nederland en zijn bedoeld om beleggers te helpen de meest bijzondere fondsen en fondsbeheerders te identificeren.
De 2014 Morningstar Awards erkennen retail fondsen en fondsengroepen die goede rentmeesters van het kapitaal van beleggers zijn geweest. De winnaars worden geselecteerd met behulp van een kwantitatieve methode ontwikkeld door Morningstar op basis van de een-, drie-en vijf-jaars performance geschiedenis van alle in aanmerking komende fondsen. Morningstar corrigeert de rendementen voor risico met behulp van een op de nutstheorie gebaseerde screening dat neerwaarts risico harder afstraft dan opwaartse volatiliteit. Head of Distribution Benelux bij Fidelity, Paul van Olst, luidt de gong.
