De Internationale Vierdaagse Nijmegen; The Walk of the World
Ter gelegenheid van de start van de 101ste Vierdaagse Nijmegen luidt Johan Willemstein, Voorzitter Stichting DE 4DAAGSE, de beursgong.
De Vierdaagse Nijmegen is ’s werelds grootste meerdaagse wandelprestatietocht met in 2017 bij de 101ste editie zo’n 45.000 deelnemers. Vanuit zo’n 70 landen komen de deelnemers naar Nijmegen om 4 dagen lang respectievelijk 30, 40, 50 of 55 kilometer per dag te wandelen. De deelnemers worden aangemoedigd door honderdduizenden supporters langs de parcoursen met als finale de glorieuze intocht op vrijdag over de Via Gladiola waarna zij het welverdiende koninklijk erkende Vierdaagsekruis in ontvangst nemen. De 101ste Vierdaagse gaat dinsdag 18 juli om 04.00 uur van start.
