Primeur in Europa van VUB met de eerste notering van een universiteitsobligatie
Donderdag 30 oktober 2015, heeft Paul De Knop, Rector aan de VUB, de markten geopend om de eerste universeitsobligatie te vieren die werd toegelaten op de Europese markten van Euronext. De VUB obligatie, die toeliet om 61.5 miljoen euro op te halen noteert op Alternext in het kader van het Euronext Private Placement Bonds Programme (EPPB). Dit is een initiatief die obligatie emittenten toestaat om een vereenvoudigde toegang tot de Euronext markten te verkrijgen.
De opgehaalde kapitalen dienen om o.a. studentenkoten, academische gebouwen en een nieuw cultureel centrum te financieren
