Start National Prokkelstagedag

State Secretary for Social Affairs and Employment, Tamara van Ark sounds the gong together with Hans Sprong, cliënt of Philadephia.

It is also the starting signal for the National Prokkelstagedag: a day when thousands of people with an intellectual disability to do a traineeship at a company, a governmental or public organization.

Secretary of State Van Ark: “Work is important for many reasons. People tell me they like to feel needed, to feel challenged and to work with colleagues. It is a good thing the number of people finding work is growing but obstacles remain. With the start of the project “Het Breed Offensief” (The Broad Offensive) we will, together with employers trying to remove these obstacles”. 

About Prokkel

Since 2007 The Stichting Prokkel organizes throughout the country “exiting encounters”  between people with and without intellectual disabilities. To show how important en valuable these meetings are, Stichting Prokkel organizes a ‘ Week of the Prokkel’ every year: One week as an example and inspiration for the rest of the year. In 2019 the Week of the Prokkel starts on Monday the 3^rd  of June and ends on Saturday the 8^th  of June.
