Presentatie unieke database over de Amsterdamse beurs (1796-1940)

De Universiteit Groningen presenteert vandaag onder de naam NEDHISFIRM een unieke wetenschappelijke database over de Amsterdamse beurs, de oudste aandelenbeurs ter wereld. De database bevat financiële data van binnenlandse en buitenlandse ondernemingen zoals die sinds 1796 genoteerd zijn geweest in Amsterdam.
De door Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (NWO) gefinancierde database vormt een waardevolle bron voor onderzoekers die de economische geschiedenis van Nederland en de betekenis van de Amsterdamse beurs willen bestuderen. Bij de bouw van de database is rijkelijk geput uit het historisch archief van de Amsterdamse beurs zoals dat wordt beheerd door Stichting Capital Amsterdam.
Abe de Jong, hoogleraar Ondernemingsfinanciering aan de Universiteit Groningen, luidde vanochtend samen met betrokken collega’s de gong. Zij werden namens Euronext Amsterdam hartelijk ontvangen door Paul Noordam, Senior Sales Manager.
