Nederlands mannen basketbalteam en TEAMKPN Sportfonds openen beurshandel
Het Nederlands mannen basketbal team opent de beurshandel in het kader van de eerste deelname aan de Europese Kampioenschappen sinds 1989. Aanvoerder Arvin Slagter luidt de gong in het gezelschap van een delegatie van sponsor TEAMKPN Sportfonds.
Het aan Euronext genoteerde KPN (ticker symbol: KPN) heeft TEAMKPN Sportfonds opgericht om opvallende topsportprestaties tijdelijk te ondersteunen. Tot en met 2018 stelt zij jaarlijks maximaal 200 duizend euro beschikbaar.
Het EK Basketbal wordt gespeeld in vier verschillende landen en vindt plaats van 5 tot en met 20 september. Nederland speelt haar vijf wedstrijden in de groepsfase in Zagreb. Op zaterdag 5 september speelt Nederland de eerste wedstrijd tegen Georgië. De finale zal worden gespeeld op 20 september in Lille.
