Marianne Vos luidt gong voor titel Sportvrouw van het Jaar
De Brabantse wielrenster Marianne Vos is voor de derde keer uitgeroepen tot Sportvrouw van het Jaar en luidt hiervoor de beursgong.
Vos is twaalfvoudig wereldkampioen in drie verschillende wielerdisciplines: veld, weg en baan. Begin februari werd zij in Hoogerheide voor de zevende keer Wereldkampioene veldrijden. Daarnaast heeft zij twee Olympische titels. Tijdens de Olympische Spelen van Beijing 2008 greep ze de titel op de puntenkoers op de baan. Vier jaar later beleefde ze in Londen het hoogtepunt van haar carrière, door Olympisch goud te pakken in het koningsnummer van het wielrennen: de wegwedstrijd. Met al haar titels is Marianne één van de meest succesvolle sporters van Nederland.
Ook naast de fiets zit Marianne Vos niet stil. Als lid van de Atleten Commissie van de UCI (de internationale wielerbond) vertegenwoordigt ze het vrouwenpeloton en houdt ze zich o.a. bezig met de toekomst van het vrouwenwielrennen. Daarnaast is Marianne Vos ambassadrice van BikePure en 100% Dope Free; anti-dopingorganisaties die zich inzetten voor een 'schone' sport.
