KLM veiligste luchtvaartmaatschappij
KLM luidt gong als veiligste luchtvaartmaatschappij van Europa
KLM, onderdeel van het aan Euronext genoteerde Air France-KLM (ticker symbol: AF), is onlangs benoemd tot veiligste luchtvaartmaatschappij van Europa. Om deze reden bezoeken zij de Amsterdamse beurs en openen zij de handelsdag.
De benoeming blijkt uit een overzicht van het Duitse Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Centre (JACDEC). Uit de jaarlijkse Safety Ranking van de zestig grootste airlines ter wereld blijkt dat KLM het in de periode 1986-2016 uitstekend heeft gedaan.
JACDEC kijkt bij het samenstellen van de ranglijst naar de verhouding van het aantal vervoerde passagiers en het aantal incidenten in de afgelopen dertig jaar. KLM is de enige Europese airline in de top tien, waar verder EVA Air, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Qantas en Japan Airlines in staan.
