Heineken Roeivierkamp
Handel geopend voor Heineken Roeivierkamp
Op 12 en 13 maart vindt voor de 44e keer de Heineken Roeivierkamp plaats in Amsterdam. De rivier de Amstel is het decor voor de officiële opening van het Nederlandse roeiseizoen. De handel wordt geopend door Studenten Roeivereniging Nereus.
In 1973 begonnen als een wedstrijdje voor enkele ploegen en uitgegroeid tot een internationale regatta met meer dan 3,5 duizend deelnemers. De Heineken roeivierkamp wordt al 44 jaar georganiseerd door Amsterdamse Studenten Roeivereniging Nereus en wordt gesponsord door het aan Euronext Amsterdam genoteerde Heineken (ticker symbol: HEIA).
Het is een officieel FISA evenement en traditioneel markeert het de opening van het Nederlandse roeiseizoen. De roeivierkamp beschikt over een unieke route over de rivier de Amstel en ligt dicht bij het historische centrum van Amsterdam. Crews roeien vier afstanden: 250 meter, 750 meter, 2500 meter en 5000 meter.
