Gongslag markeert Nationale Herdenking vliegramp
Maandag 10 november staat in het teken van de Nationale Herdenking van de ramp met vlucht MH17. De Nationale Herdenking is een blijk van medeleven met de nabestaanden en een uiting van respect voor alle slachtoffers.
In de RAI in Amsterdam vindt een herdenkingsbijeenkomst plaats voor nabestaanden van slachtoffers en betrokkenen bij de vliegramp en geeft nabestaanden de gelegenheid om samen met lotgenoten hun dierbaren te herdenken. De herdenkingsbijeenkomst wordt onder andere bijgewoond door Zijne Majesteit Koning Willem-Alexander, Hare Majesteit Koningin Máxima en minister-president Mark Rutte.
De muzikale omlijsting van de herdenking wordt onder andere verzorgd door het Radio Filharmonisch Orkest. Voorafgaand aan de bijeenkomst openen enkele leden van het Orkest de beurshandel met een speciaal voor de gelegenheid geschreven compositie. Vincent Cox schreef, ‘Memories 10.11’, waarin onder andere een gongslag is verwerkt. Slagwerker, Esther Doornink, luidt de gong.
