Gong markeert beursverjaardag en lancering beursgeschiedenis website
Met een slag op de gong vieren Euronext Amsterdam en Stichting Capital Amsterdam (SCA) de 413e verjaardag van de aandelenhandel. Ter ere van de verjaardag lanceert Stichting Capital Amsterdam haar nieuwe website over de bijzondere beursgeschiedenis van Nederland.
In maart 1602 gaf de Verenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie (VOC) voor het eerst verhandelbare aandelen uit onder een breed publiek. Daarmee ontstond in Amsterdam de eerste aandelenbeurs ter wereld en was het idee om ondernemerschap te financieren via de openbare kapitaalmarkt geboren. CEO van BE Semiconductor Industries NV (Besi), Richard Blickman, opent de beurshandel en geeft na de gongslag een toelichting over het belang van de beurs voor de groei van Besi.
