DNB markeert haar 200-jarig bestaan met een bezoek aan Euronext

De president van de Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), Klaas Knot, opent de beurshandel met een slag op de gong. Met deze slag markeert de president het 200-jarig bestaan van DNB.
Al 200 jaar werkt DNB aan vertrouwen. Vanaf het eerste moment in 1814, toen Koning Willem I DNB oprichtte, doet zij dat door te waken over de financiële stabiliteit van het land. In een complexe wereld. Waar nodig anticiperend, steeds met het vizier op de lange termijn.
Financiële stabiliteit vraagt om stabiele prijzen, een soepel en veilig betalingsverkeer en solide en integere financiële instellingen. Dat zijn de voorwaarden voor een gezonde economie en welvaart in Nederland en de voorwaarden waar DNB zich hard voor maakt.
