Albert Heijn Foundation
10-Jarige Albert Heijn Foundation opent beursdag
De Amsterdamse beurs van Euronext wordt geopend door de AH Foundation die deze maand 10 jaar bestaat. Voorzitter Cees van Vliet, directeur winkels en logistiek van Albert Heijn, slaat samen met collega’s en medewerkers uit de winkel de gong.
De AH Foundation is een samenwerking met ontwikkelingsorganisatie ICCO en ontwikkelt programma’s voor medewerkers van leveranciers in Afrika op het gebied van scholing, huisvesting en gezondheidszorg. Komend jaar breidt de AH Foundation uit naar Zuid-Amerika.
Meer dan 30.000 kinderen en volwassenen in tien Afrikaanse landen, hebben de afgelopen tien jaar via de AH Foundation onderwijs genoten. Samen met leveranciers is er geïnvesteerd in nieuwe scholen, resourcecenters en (bij)lesprogramma’s. Zo werd bijvoorbeeld de bouw en renovatie van 29 scholen gefinancierd door de verkoop van verse fruitsalades uit Ghana.
Albert Heijn is onderdeel van het aan Euronext genoteerde Ahold Delhaize (ticker symbol: AD).
