Aegon luidt gong als startsein voor WK Roeien

Vanaf zondag 24 augustus komen de beste roeiers ter wereld in actie tijdens het WK Roeien op de Bosbaan in Amsterdam.
Acht dagen lang strijden roeiers uit 60 landen om 27 wereldtitels. Voor het eerst sinds 1977 is Nederland gastheer van het WK Roeien. Aegon is hoofdsponsor van de Koninklijke Nederlandsche Roei Bond (KNRB) en sponsor van het WK Roeien. Tijdens het WK zal er veel meer te beleven zijn dan alleen toproeien. Bezoekers van over de hele wereld komen samen in de Aegon Fanzone. Elke dag zijn hier activiteiten en optredens van bekende artiesten. Op de finaledagen worden in de Aegon Fanzone de medaillewinnaars gehuldigd. Zaterdag 23 augustus wordt het WK officieel geopend met een spectaculaire openingsceremonie op het Museumplein. De finales van het WK op 29, 30 en 31 augustus worden rechtstreeks uitgezonden door de NOS op Nederland 1. Voorzitter Stichting WK Roeien, Lex van Drooge, luidt de gong.
