Euronext Background
Euronext is the leading pan-European market infrastructure, shaping capital markets for future generations. Its mission is to connect European economies to global capital markets, to accelerate innovation and sustainable growth. Euronext is located in 18 countries across Europe, US and Asia, with regulated exchanges in Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway and Portugal. The group has expanded organically and externally, with a revenue growing from €458 million in 2014 to €1.5 billion in 2022, with 2,200 employees and 55 nationalities.
Due to the rapid growth in data volumes and complexity, and the organization’s strategic pivot toward digital and AI capabilities, Euronext has made the decision to transition from a Centralized to a Federated Data Governance Model. Under this new approach, each business domain is responsible for implementing its own data governance programme, with direction and support from the Group Data Governance team. The IT Market Service department, responsible for building and maintaining the trading platform of Euronext , is now seeking a Data Governance Lead to drive this initiative within its area. This is a pivotal role for a self-starter with strong tenacity and business acumen — someone who can understand domain-specific needs and priorities, and shape a data governance programme that delivers tangible value. The position involves close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including business lines, business data owners, data stewards, domain and group IT teams, and the Group Data Governance function. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead meaningful change and help embed a culture of data ownership and accountability within a key area of the business
Key responsibilities
- Within the framework of a federated data governance model based on Data Mesh Principles, drive the implementation of data governance in the IT Market Services business line, ensuring business needs are identified and prioritized, and that efforts align with organizational tools, policies, and frameworks defined by the group data governance team.
- Contribute to the development, enhancement, and operationalization of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to improve data quality, integrity, lineage, security, and accessibility.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies, proactively identifying and mitigating risks related to data governance.
- Monitor, measure, and enforce data governance practices across the domain, ensuring consistent adoption and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with business data owners, data stewards, and key business stakeholders to establish clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability for data management. Serve as the primary liaison between the Business line, IT Teams and various internal and external stakeholders like Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers.
- Drive metadata management and data catalog initiatives, ensuring accurate documentation of data assets, ownership, and governance workflows.
- Drive data quality programme to identify, assess, remediate and prevent data quality issues that hinder the business in achieving their objectives in a timely and trusted manner. Monitor data quality metrics; identify and address data quality issues in collaboration with stewards and technical teams.
