Week of Regional Entrepreneurship – Innovation Quarter and UNIIQ open trading

From 19 August to 26 August, the gong ceremony at Beursplein 5 focuses on the activity and entrepreneurship in the various regions in the Netherlands. Euronext has invited the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Regional Development Companies to put their work in the spotlight during the Week of Regional Entrepreneurship.

UNIIQ, the investment fund focused on supporting startup companies in the proof-of-concept stage, sounds the opening gong at the Euronext Amsterdam exchange on behalf of innovative early-stage entrepreneurs in the province of South Holland during the Week of Regional Entrepreneurship.

UNIIQ is a € 22 million investment fund focused on the proof-of-concept phase. UNIIQ helps entrepreneurs in the province of South Holland bring their unique innovation to market faster. UNIIQ offers entrepreneurs the seed money to realize their plans, and bridges the riskiest phase from concept to promising business. A consortium, including Erasmus MC, TU Delft, Leiden University and the regional development agency InnovationQuarter, created the fund. UNIIQ is made possible by the European Union.

Hans Leufkens, Head of Client Coverage EnterNext: ''The Regional  Economic Development Agencies are extremely important for the growth of the Dutch economy and the acceleration of innovation.'' The exchange and entrepreneurship have gone hand in hand for over 400 years. Euronext plays an important role in financing the real economy. With its subsidiary EnterNext it supports entrepreneurs in their growth - along with industry partners - to develop funding initiatives in the form of loans and bonds to increase visibility of listed, medium-sized enterprises.
