Purpose of Role

As part of the global Tax Operations team, the role of the Operations Analyst is to facilitate the smooth processing of tax relief requests and to provide high quality guidance and support to clients and external stakeholders using the Acupay System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing and monitoring tax relief requests (Relief at Source, Quick Refund, and Long Form Reclaims), including entitlement monitoring and documentation management, across various markets
  • Liaising with DTC, paying agents, and other domestic clearing systems to facilitate the above         
  • Providing technical support to clients using the Acupay System and conducting training when required
  • Responding to client inquiries and liaising with users of the Acupay System, constantly striving to offer exceptional customer service. Building strong client relationships and cross-selling other services
  • Working towards certification level percentages agreed in advance
  • Testing of new or improved operational processes and systems
  • Supporting the organization and completion of calling campaigns
  • Creating, reviewing, and editing notices and newsletters
  • Proactively identifying business and performance improvement opportunities of the department and flagging these to the team leader or the senior management in a timely manner
  • Maintaining professional competence by always complying with the training and competence procedures of the company
  • Set-up of projects and securities details in the Acupay System back end
  • Assist in initial settlement process for new bond deals
  • Calculate income amounts including taxation on fixed income and equity securities
  • Research and confirm securities information using market data providers (DTCC, Bloomberg etc.)
  • Undertaking  any  other  reasonable  duties as deemed appropriate by management,  commensurate  with  the  level  of  the  post  so  as  to  ensure  the  smooth  running  of Acupay
  • Calculate income amounts including taxation on fixed income and equity securities
  • Research and confirm securities information using market data providers (DTCC, Bloomberg etc.)
  • Working on Tax Processing Service (TPS) Operations in conjunction with the Product team.
  • Working with the Operations assistant to ensure that documentation reviews and archiving are done correctly

Skills and Experience

ESSENTIAL

  • Proven client relationship, problem solving and tax knowledge skills
  • Interest in and knowledge of financial markets, equities and debt instruments
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Strong client focus and ability to participate in client meetings and conference calls.
  • Capable of identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including client communication and ability to mark up legal/procedural documents
  • Attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic, self-driven, willing to go the extra mile and work at own initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure, to work independently as well as to be a team player, particularly across different sites and time zones

DESIRABLE

  • Experience working in a tax or corporate actions environment
  • A general understanding of custody back office and relevant business & computer systems
  • Knowledge of other languages would be beneficial

Pay Range

  • The anticipated good faith base salary range for this position is USD $60,000 – $67,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, location, and market conditions. This position may also be eligible for bonus and additional benefits.
