Barber returns to Beursplein 5
After a long absence, the well-known barber returns to the Amsterdam exchange.
In 1934, the Exchange Salon was opened at the Amsterdam exchange building. Before they entered the trading floor, stockbrokers visited the barber for a shaving in a classical way. However, the barber disappeared in 1996 from Beursplein 5. Until now! The ‘Cut Throat Barber & Coffee’ barbers, located at the Warmoestraat, revive the old tradition. Traders can book the 'Cut Throat Shaves' treatment in one of the authentic barber chairs. Peter Paul de Vries was the first to take place in the barber chair to be "cut and shaved". Co-Owner and manager, Tom Sadd, sounds the gong.

Every year on the 29th of April Make-A-Wish celebrates World Wish Day all over the world. In 1980 the first wish was granted to the 7-years old Chris, he suffered from leukemia. The whole village contributed enthusiasm to fulfil his dearest wish: being a cop. Make-A-Wish The Netherlands is founded in 1989 and annually fulfills more than 500 dearest wishes of children between 3 and 18 years with a life-threatening illness. Fulfilling a wish means a world of difference for these children and provides them and their family with hope and strength for the future.
