Celebrating Global Money Week on Euronext Brussels

Euronext celebrates Global Money Week with a week-long series of partnership events and bell ringing ceremonies globally that highlights initiatives to help improve child and youth’s financial education. Euronext Brussels’ partner is Child & Youth Finance International (CYFI) which serves as a platform to align and support Global Money Week activities all over the world in coordination with national financial platform committees in every country.

Therefore Ignacio Bianco of Child & Youth Finance International rang the Opening Bell in Brussels on 12 March 2014 in the presence of student Sebastiaan Duivenvoorde. Representatives of  the European Banking Federation,  the European Association of Cooperative Banks,  Mastercard, World Savings Bank Institute, FSMA and EuroChild were also invited on the podium of the Bell Ceremony.

The Artesis Plantijn Hogeschool, the Karel de Grote Hogeschool Antwerp and the “Katholieke Hogeschool Limburg” (KHLim) were invited as well for this special occasion.

The Bell Ceremony was followed by a presentation for the students on the Role of the Stock Exchange in the Financing of the Companies by Vincent Van Dessel, CEO of Euronext Brussels.

Delhaize and Umicore will be highlighted on the podium because they are elected by Vigeo as the best performing Belgian companies on promoting diversity on the workplace.

The bell ceremony is followed by a conference with guest speakers Prof.  Bruno Colmant from Partner Roland Berger Strategy and the Vlerick Business School, Robert van der Eijk, Senior Vice President of Capgemini Consulting Belgium and Saskia Van Uffelen, Chief Executive Officer of Bull.

Bell Ceremony to celebrate the listing of Hamon bonds

On 5 February 2014, Francis Lambillotte, CEO of Hamon and Christophe Maréchal, Group Treasurer of Hamon, opened the European stock markets with a Bell Ceremony at Euronext Brussels to celebrate the listing of bonds of 55 million euros on the Brussels markets. The bond has a 6 years maturity and an annual rate of 5.5 per cent.

BNP Paribas Fortis SA/NV and KBC Bank NV were the Joint Lead Managers.

Bell Ceremony to celebrate the first listing of the equity options on RTL

On 29 January 2014, Guillaume de Posch, CEO of RTL Group opened the markets with aBell Ceremonyat Euronext Brussels to celebrate the introduction of a new option contract on RTL at Euronext Brussels. Elmar Heggen, CFO of RTL Group and Philippe Delussine, CEO of RTL Belgique joined the CEO on the podium of the Bell Ceremony. The trading symbol of this new option is RTL.

Walter Van Glabbeekand Jean-François Anspach, Honorary Vice-Presidents of the former “Commission de la Bourse-Beurscommissie” of 1989  rang the Opening Bell in Brussels on 24 January 2014 to celebrate the 25^th anniversary of the launch of the first electronic trading system on the Brussels Stock Exchange. The 3 first shares –  that were traded electronically on 24 January 1989 were Solvay, GB-Inno-BM and Tractebel. They are represented by Diego du Monceau, former CEO of GIB and Alcon Hidalgo Maria, Executive VP Investor Relations, Solvay.

On 8 January 2014, 8 Mayors and representatives of each participating city opened the European stock markets with a Bell Ceremony at Euronext Brussels to celebrate the first listing of the Pooled Fixed Rate Notes issued by Flemish cities and municipalities. The bond listing brought together a pool of 8 Flemish municipalities (Aalst-Beringen-Boom-Bree-Brugge-Lier-Wachtebeke-Zaventem)

The bonds are listed through a private placement with a total nominal amount of 43.500.000 euro with a maturity of 10 years. The interest rate stands at 3.299%.  ING was the global coordinator.

Since 18 December 2013 is the company Qrf listed on Euronext Brussels. Quares stands for Quality Real Estate Services. Bell Ceremony to celebrate the first listing of a covered bond under the ING “Belgium Residential Mortgage Pandbrieven Programme

Guy Beniada, CFO of ING Belgium, rang the Opening Bell on Euronext Brussels on 10 December 2013 to celebrate the first listing of a ING covered bond under the Belgium Residential Mortgage Pandbrieven Programme  for a maximum of 10 billion euro. This successful transaction allowed ING Belgium to place 1 billion euro with a wide range of institutional investors. The Pandbrieven listed today have a 5 years maturity and an annual coupon of 1,125% and are covered by Belgian residential mortgages.
