REGULATORY CONTEXT

T2S – European Central Bank

In its Report on Collateral Management Harmonization in December 2017, the Advisory Group on Market Infrastructures for Securities and Collateral (AMI-SeCo) identified a series of harmonization needs in the field of collateral management.

In the area of Corporate Actions, several upgrades were identified to meet standards for fixed income instruments.

Job summary


The ECMS Programme oversees delivering a solution to meet regulatory requirements (November 2023 for debt instruments and 2025 for the other instruments).

The programme aims at creating a common and flexible approach for Corporate Actions calculation for Euronext CSDs and is currently running the implementation of a new Corporate Actions platform.

The programme is looking for a senior business analyst for the phase 2 of the project, to make the link between business and IT and help designing and documenting future services.

It is also highly expected that the profile will bring experience with regards Corporate Actions implementation and Corporate Actions international standards, including ISO messages, and have already a knowledge of Portuguese Financial Market where Euronext Securities Porto operates as CSD.

The senior business analyst will be working mainly with the Corporate Action Product Owner and Euronext Securities Porto senior business resources.

The senior business analyst could also interact with the Programme Director, Enterprise Architect and IT lead(s).

Key Accountabilities

As Senior Business Analyst, you will be in charge of:

•            Ensuring Euronext Securities Porto requirements are covered and implemented;

•            Identifying, understanding and documenting international standards, making sure these are well understood by all all stakeholders;;

•            Sharing knowledge and best practice with regards to Corporate Actions implementation, namely the ISO messages;

•            Proposing and negotiating business solutions to meet SCoRE requirements;

•            Drafting visual flows and diagrams supporting IT architectural solutions, meeting the product’s strategy and regulatory standards;

•            Supporting the definition of all requirements regarding the business models;

•            Ensuring enough flexibility for the solution and its major features;

•            Ensuring end-to-end coverage of the business requirements with the architect;

•            Acting as local relay between the Product Owner and Euronext Securities Porto staff

  • Supporting the implementation of standard and harmonised business practices;
  • Providing support ahead and during the new Corporate Actions platform testing phase;
  • Escalating any issue to the Product Owner.

Skills, knowledge and experience Required

Experience

  • 4 years + experience in a Business Analysts role, Corporate Actions specific knowledge being an advantage;
  • 4 years + experience within the financial markets, Portuguese Financial Market specifics being an asset.

Knowledge

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding or at least good notions of:

  • The Corporate Actions international standards;
  • ISO 15022 and ISO 20022 Corporate Actions standards;
  • T2S rules.

Profile

  • Understands the business requirements and proposes business solutions;
  • Extensive experience of working with vendors, especially during the implementation phase;
  • Excellent structure, rigor and analytical skills;
  • Strong verbal communication skills with excellent spoken and written English;
  • Ability to build strong relationships, collaborate and communicate with the various stakeholders, across regions and at every level of the organisation (IT, Market Operations, Sales,…);

Systems

Our core systems run on the mainframe, our development environments are on the Windows platform and we encode both in EGL, PL/I and Java. Our decentralised systems are primarily based on Java – this will be the focus for this position.

Desired Profile

  • You have solid programming experience with Java. We value skill and attitude higher than years of experience.

  • Knowledge about scrum, React, OpenShift and TDD is an advantage.

  • You don't need to have insight into the financial sector – we will teach you.

  • You thrive in an environment where freedom and autonomy go hand in hand with responsibility.

  • You have good analytical skills, just as you are quick to gain insight into new business areas.

The Position

The position is placed in one of two scrum teams in our Ancillary Services department based in Copenhagen. This department is responsible for the development and maintenance of several applications supporting our core systems. Currently we are developing a pan-European Java-application to support the business area Issuance. We need a new colleague to help us build this.

We are looking for a Java-developer who knows what it means to take technical ownership, and work in a team.

We like to work from the office but we also recognise the value and flexibility of working from home. Our company policy is two days per week. The teams agree and coordinate themselves when they choose to work from home.

The messaging team at Euronext Securities Copenhagen is looking for a new colleague to maintain,  operate and develop data transformations, as well as  to configure the exchange of  financial messages with financial counterparties through SWIFT and MQ. 


The job

As a system developer in the Messaging team, you will be collaborating with our business analysts, back office developers and  our customers in the financial sector on tasks related to data transformation  and exchange of financial messages (transactions) through SWIFT and MQ.  You will also maintain, improve, update or replace surrounding applications  and programs for alignment and standardization.


Your new team

Euronext Securities unites the four CSDs (Central Securities Depositories) that represent the Euronext CSD network consisting of Euronext VPS (Norway), Interbolsa (Portugal), Monte Titoli (Italy), and VP Securities (Denmark). A large part of our business basis is to issue, register and transfer ownership of securities after trading on behalf of our clients in the financial sector. The right candidate will be part of the Messaging team in the Infrastructure and Shared Services department in Copenhagen, which has a close collaboration with the other CSDs and especially VPS in Norway. The team is in the process of consolidating and modernizing the platform across borders so that each CSD can benefit from a common solution.

About you

Within the Risk & Compliance department, a team of more than 40 talented professionals in Risk, BCM and Compliance, spread across our various geographies, is ensuring to preserve the value assets and reputation of the company. Supporting risk identification and assessment and the implementation of risk mitigating actions, informing and raising staff and business awareness, monitoring and ensuring compliance with the appropriate regulations are the core activities embedded in our team.

We are looking for a Markets and CSDs Risk Manager to join our team to :

-      Support the Head of Markets and CSDs Risk to follow up the risk management activities for Markets and CSDs business units including reporting to internal and external stakeholders;

- Support the organisation in proper risk management practices in order to avoid threats (financial losses, reputational damage, service failures or compliance breaches) and to strike the right balance in pursue business opportunities.

Key accountabilities:

-  Contribute to ensure proper risk management activities in line with internal and external requirements and expectations from management and relevant stakeholders including the national financial authorities and the central banks;

-  Assist in performing 2nd line of defence’s independent risk assessments for business activities and projects and in developing and monitoring of key risk indicators;

- Support the proper risk management reporting to senior management, Risk Committees and legal entities’ Board of Directors.

Knowledge, Skills, Personal qualities:

-      Master degree is required. Degrees in economics or engineering is preferred;

-      4 to 6 years of experience, with previous risk management demonstrated;

-      knowledge of risk management best practices and standards/frameworks like COSO ERM and ISO 31000;

-   Fluency in English required;

-   Flexible and open to change;
