World Autism Day

Back

Brunel opens the stock exchange on behalf of the Dutch Autism Association (NVA) on World Autism Day. Femke Dijkstra, one of the founders of the Brunel Foundation, sounds the gong.

World Autism Day

World Autism Day coincides with the NVA Autism Week 2019. This year, the theme of the Autism Week 2019 is ‘Autism Works’ and the NVA hopes to bridge the gap between employers and people with autism. More than 55 percent of people with autism are unemployed but could be a valuable addition to the work floor. The NVA find this incompatible with the scarcity on the labor market, where there are tens of thousands of unfilled vacancies.

The NVA will also award the Autism Kindness Award on World Autism Day to one individual and one organization committed to enabling the participation of people with Autism.

Brunel

As an employment service provider, Brunel supports this initiative and collaborates with NVA on the WorkWeb-Autism project. This online tool helps people with Autism find suitable employment opportunities. This is just one of the initiatives by the NVA that fits Brunel’s mission: ‘to help create a better future for professionals and a better planet for future professionals’.
