The King’s Commissioner for the Province of Limburg sounds gong for Brightlands

Theo Bovens, the King’s Commissioner for the Province of Limburg, opens Euronext trading in Amsterdam with the traditional sounding of the gong. In doing so, Bovens pays attention to Brightlands, the name of four Limburg campuses that have been built by the Limburg chemical group DSM, pension administrator APG in Heerlen, the Province of Limburg and Maastricht University.

These campuses represent the materials of the future, top biomedical research and development, safe and healthy nutrition and new services resulting from the smart use of data.

The latest campus, the Brightlands Smart Services Campus in Heerlen, was opened earlier this month by His Royal Highness Prince Constantijn and Henk Kamp, the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs. The campus has experienced a flying start, attracting KPN, Conclusion, Accenture, the Bank of New York Mellon, as well as Statistics Netherlands (CBS). Big data is used as the raw material for developing new smart services.
