Department

Euronext Market Services (EMS) is the front line for Euronext Cash, Derivatives and Commodities business with two operational centres in Amsterdam and Paris to ensure fair and orderly markets for all Cash, Derivatives and Commodities products, including Corporate Actions, Euronext Indices, Euronext Market Data, Member on boarding and Hosted Commercial Markets. EMS staff and managers have access to all relevant EMS Cash and Derivatives business and technical monitoring tools and make use of integrated EMS tools and procedures across the two EMS locations. EMS operates daily from 06:30-22:30 CET. EMS owns the service delivery to clients.

EMS is a preferred entry point for all talents willing to work in the Euronext or more broadly in the financial markets industry.

Your tasks

As an Operational Client Relationship Officer, you ensure that an excellent customer service to all Euronext members and partnering software vendors / service providers is provided and that all client request and queries are taken into account. You are working together in a (virtual) team of Operational Client Relationship Officers from other locations.

  • Be the central point of contact of an allocated group of clients on operational matters covering level 1 or 2 questions, among others:

    • functional questions on specifications

    • questions on market moves or reservations

    • direct management of order cancellation and interfaces from trades cancellation, both according to the procedures in place

    • connectivity or technical points

    • advisory on throttling and access setup

    • post-sale client onboarding on new products / initiatives until go live

  • Follow up all questions or issues until resolution, regularly inform the client of progresses notably when in depth analysis is needed (Level 3 : bugs/IT, performance/M&TT, cinematics/Markets-Projects)

  • Reporting interactions in the defined tool

  • Maintaining all interfaces with customers (distribution lists, CRM, portal, technical documentation)

  • Projects : review of specifications and creation of terms of reference on coming products and initiatives, support to clients for the developments and tests, execution of conformance tests with the client

  • More active contribution to projects when targeting a specific list of clients

  • Incidents : management of clients contacts during incidents. When needed, the Operational Client services team can be asked to support the Markets team.

  • Upon implementation of the transfer of some CSC tasks, management of the virtual desk activities

Your profile

  • > 4 years’ experience in one or more of the following: client support services, market operations in an exchange, trading venue or market participant

  • Master’s degree in finance or engineering. Knowledge of financial markets is essential

  • Excellent structure and analytical skills and ability to think conceptually

  • High standards of service delivery to clients and ability to create strong relationships

Within Euronext, the Listing Department is in charge of the relationship with listed companies and those contemplating an IPO. Our mission is to promote financial markets and explain to business leaders the benefits of listing and how to better use financial markets once public. In addition, we are fully supporting a dynamic through creating and promoting new services and financing instruments, developing  the investors’ axis, bringing together the ecosystem and lobbying towards European public authorities.

Within the Listing Department,  the Analyst Team is the statistical and information knowledge center. The intern will be involved in the launch and development of new initiatives (targeting innovative Tech SMEs across Europe, Family owned-businesses, etc.) and will participate in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports on market activity from a Listing perspective.

Launching our new strategy in 2019, “Let’s Grow Together 2022”, within the listing department six pillars of growth were identified. Here the intern will play a key role in the further development of SME Qualitative Research. Facilitating the real finance Euronext Amsterdam is identifying ways in which to encourage SMEs to access the capital markets for their financing needs. Working collectively with the Netherlands ecosystem (major banks, auditors, institutional and private investors) Euronext is rolling out an SME plan.

The internship will run for a duration of six months, starting in January 2022, in which the candidate will be compensated €500 monthly. 

Your tasks

  • Conducting industry, market and company-specific research.

  • Researching trends in various industry sectors.

  • Help implement the Netherlands SME plan.

  • The Intern will support sales representatives in the preparation of their meetings and presentation materials, spanning the entire value chain (clients, prospects, the capital markets ecosystem, etc.).

Role summary

The “Corporate functions risk” department is part of the “Risk, Audit, and Compliance” role family for which an individual scope for each department exists, but all contribute to our control accountability, preserving the value assets and reputation of the company. Identifying and assessing risks, implementing mitigation actions, informing and raising staff and business awareness, monitoring and control are common to all the Audit, Compliance and Risk activities.

Corporate functions risk department is covering the second line of risk for IT, Cyber, HR, Procurement and other transversal department. The stakeholders are mainly located in France (Paris), but are also in other Euronext locations (Milan, Oslo, New York, Dublin, Copenhagen…).

Within this team, the Corporate functions risk officer will contribute in implementing the company’s ‘three lines of defense’ Risk policy and work with team-based Risk Coordinators to develop Risk Profiles and Key Risk Indicators by identifying and documenting with the business the various risks the company may face.

  • She/He will examine likelihood and impact of risk, work with business teams to identify or develop mitigation factors and review residual risks. She/He will participate in key initiatives to help projects to address the risks and have an independent view.

  • She/He will contribute in administrating, maintaining and improving the risk register tool and be point of contact for key users to answer functional request, train them and liaise with the editor for evolutions and patches to deliver.

Key accountabilities

  • Assist and advise management of Business and Support Functions on managing risks by identifying, analyzing and advising on mitigation,

  • Assist in the development, management and monitoring of key risk indicators across Euronext,

  • Contribute to the development and the maintenance of the risk management tool (e.g. assisting in the collection and summarization of requirements, documenting relevant information, training users).

  • Support the team in its role of animator and coordinators of the delivery of EMS roadmap of project and ensure EMS portfolio roadmap is managed and properly followed
  • Support the preparations if the animation of the EMS portfolio governance to ensure:
    - decisions are taken at the “right level of the organisation
    - information is shared horizontally and vertically
    - arbitrations are properly raised to the head of EMS
  • Organise, prepare and coordinate EMS impact assessment ahead of Demand gate (including workload estimation, additional requirements, ...)
  • Monitor, follow and support the overall implementation of Euronext projects where EMS is contributing / impacted
  • Secure the quality and consistency of EMS contribution (EMS deliverables) to company projects
  • Maintain documentation up to date and related repository, and ensure proper tracking of progress
