Euronext Brussels awards for best performing listed companies and members

On Thursday 12 January 2017, almost 500 guests joined us for our traditional New Year’s Ceremony at SQUARE Brussels.

The evening started with a debate about the opportunities arising from Brexit. While all panellists agreed on the fact that Brussels has true assets as financial centre, they also underpinned the need for a proactive profiling of Brussels, coordinated investment in infrastructure and significant adjustments of the regulatory and fiscal framework. During his keynote, Minister Kris Peeters confirmed that the Belgian Brexit Group will deliver a first report in February. It will include a section on opportunities with specific focus on the financial sector. Euronext Brussels CEO Vincent Van Dessel came back on the significant events of 2016 and outlined the Euronext projects for 2017. In his closing remarks, Minister Johan Van Overtveldt highlighted the importance of having a stable fiscal regime for investors in Belgium..
