STMicroelectronics is one of the world leaders in the design, production and marketing of semiconductors. Net sales break down by products family as follows:
- analogue and integrated circuits for specific applications (61.7%): circuits for computer peripherals (data storage and power conversion products, monitors, printers), telecom applications (cellular telephones and infrastructures, networks), and automobiles (airbags, braking systems, motors, car radios, etc.);
- micro-controllers, linear and discreet circuits (37.7%): rectifiers, protective devices, power transistors, radio components, integrated logic circuits, etc.;
- other (0.6%): sub-systems intended primarily for industrial, telecom module, automotive, and industrial applications.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: the Netherlands (18%), Singapore (57.4%), the United States (10.7%), Japan (4.2%), France (1.7%), Italy (1.5%) and other (6.5%).

the net profit for the minority interests.
IAS-IFRS standard
2005 accounts for companies listed on Eurolist are in
the IAS-IFRS accounting standard. Companies
listed on a regulated market are under the obligation to publish
their 2005 aggregated accounts in the IAS-IFRS standard.

In the "Insurance" sector, the « Premiums» corresponds to the

In the "Société de Portefeuille" sector, the « Income» corresponds
to the « Revenues » (or « Net sales »).
