Activity

Electricité de France (EDF) is France's leading electricity producer, marketer, and distributor. Sales break down by activity as follows:
- production and sale of electricity and natural gas (69.4%). The group also develops a trading activity of electricity, natural gas, coal and oil;
- management of low- and medium-voltage electricity distribution networks (18.2%): network design, construction, operation, and maintenance;
- management of high-voltage and very high-voltage electricity transportation networks (6.5%). EDF transports electricity from producers to final distributors and large industrial consumers;
- supply of energy-related services (5.9%): engineering, construction, and installation of renewable energy cogeneration and production units, electrical network operation and maintenance, public lighting and urban heating equipment management, etc.
Sales are distributed geographically as follows: France (53.3%), the United Kingdom (12.8%), Germany (11.6%), Italy (9.4%), Europe (11.9%), and other (1%).
