IPO Showcase

In 2008, NYSE Euronext’s U.S. and European equities markets attracted more initial public offering (IPO) proceeds than any other exchange group in the world. IPOs on NYSE Euronext markets raised a total of €29 billion in proceeds. Among the important IPOs in 2008 were Visa, which raised €11.5 billion on the NYSE, and EDP Renováveis (EDPR), raising €1.57 billion on NYSE Euronext in Portugal.

In 2009 Delta Lloyd celebrated their listing in Amsterdam and NYSE Euronext hosted six IPOs in the U.S., including Hyatt Hotels, Dollar General and two Chinese companies (Douyuan Printing and 7 Days Group). So far this year, 14 Chinese companies have been listed on NYSE Amex, and by year’s end eight more new listings from China are expected. Overall, over $22 billion have been raised in IPO proceeds from over 45 transactions up till December 2009 on NYSE Euronext. NYSE Euronext ranks first among exchange groups worldwide in the amount of capital raised through IPOs in 2009.
