In order to conduct business on LIFFE CONNECT® a Member is required to register at least one Responsible Person with the Exchange for each NYSE Liffe market of which it is a Member. All business must be submitted to LIFFE CONNECT® under an Individual Trading Mnemonic (“ITM”) assigned to a Responsible Person.
A Responsible Person is an individual registered to the Exchange who, amongst other things, is responsible for ensuring as far as possible that business conducted under his ITM(s) complies with the Exchange’s Rules and Trading Procedures. A Responsible Person may be a trader himself and / or a trading supervisor whereby other staff (or clients) submit (or route) business through his ITM(s).
A Member must ensure that it has registered sufficient number of Responsible Persons (and ITMs) for the nature and scale of business being conducted. In this regard, a Member must satisfy itself that any Responsible Person it registers is able to meet its obligations as set out in the Rules and Trading Procedures (particularly where he will be supervising a number of business flows).
For further information about the obligations of a Responsible Person please refer to Euronext Rules Book 1, Section 2202, ‘Responsible Persons and Traders’ http://www.euronext.com/tools/documentation/wide/documents-3388-EN.html and the NYSE Liffe Trading Procedures, Section 3, “Trading on LIFFE CONNECT® http://www.euronext.com/handbook/section/section-21777-EN.html |
