Revival of an old tradition

An old stock exchange tradition was revived in Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris. Special guests are invited to sound the opening bell to mark the opening (9.00 am) and closing (17.30 pm) of the trading session in Europe.

Opening ceremony Amsterdam

In Amsterdam every trading day the gong is sounded to mark the opening and closing of the trading session. Many distinguished guests have already participated in the gong ceremony, including international politicians, CEOs of companies listed on the exchange, Olympic medal winners as well as other prominent individuals and organisations.

Opening ceremony Paris

In Paris the trading day is opened by sounding the opening bell. Special guests have been invited to NYSE Euronext Paris to open the trading day.

Opening and closing ceremony Brussels

In Brussels opening and closing bells are organised to celebrate special occasions,to mark NYSE Euronext initiatives and projects and to welcome foreign delegations and distinguished guests.

Opening and closing ceremony Lisbon

In Lisbon the bell-ringing ceremony will be offered to listed companies as well as market members and other businesses and institutions do celebrate special occasions. The bell remains a strong symbol of the Stock Exchange and the NYSE Euronext Group wishes to extend the use of this powerful symbol to the benefit of its direct customers and other companies, entities or individuals, whose role or achievements deserve recognition and support.
