Launched in May 2009, futures contracts based on the FTSE 100 Dividend Index have proved popular with market participants seeking to hedge dividend exposure within an exchange environment, rather than in the over the counter (OTC) market. During the first six months of listing, over 500,000 lots were traded on both the LIFFE CONNECT® Central Order Book and Bclear, with open interest in excess of 250,000 lots.
Following this successful launch, NYSE Liffe now also offers futures contracts on the CAC40® Dividend Index. The futures contracts are available for trading via LIFFE CONNECT® and for clearing by LCH.Clearnet S.A.
