NYSE Euronext sponsored the 8th Midcap Event held at the Palais Brongniart on 29 and 30 September. This two-day event dedicated to midcaps provides a forum for European institutional investors to meet and talk to companies listed on NYSE Euronext, with the opportunity for institutional investors to hold one-to-one meetings with executives of the listed companies of their choice.

This event was a resounding success in 2008, with around 3,050 meetings between 370 European investors (of whom 80% were French and 15% British) and 160 Euronext companies. These 160 companies were hosted at the stands of 11 European brokers that cover the stocks. This success is even more noteworthy against the backdrop of the severe stock market decline.

The event attracted listed companies from all sectors (manufacturing, technology, consumer services, healthcare and consumer goods), with an average market capitalisation of between €10 million and €6.7 billion (at the date of the event).

Launched in 2002, the Midcap Event - organised by CF&B Communication - has continued to grow in popularity, illustrating NYSE's support of small and midcap companies and the importance it attaches to these companies.
