On 28-29 May NYSE Euronext hosted the 9th anniversary gathering of BIO Equity Europe 2008 in Amsterdam. This two-day conference has been a great success and has established itself as the magnet for financial dealmakers and the premier venue for life science companies positioning themselves to attract capital from international investors.

BIO Equity Europe 2008 set new records for delegates, companies and one-on-one meetings. In total more than 600 delegates attended the 2 day conference and 84 Biotech companies presented.

NYSE Euronext announced at this occasion the creation and launch of the Next BioTech Index. The index is the first Eurozone biotech index. The market cap weighted index is comprised of the 25 biotechs with a primary listing on NYSE Euronext’s European markets: Euronext and Alternext (see “Next BioTech”).
